The Other Side of the White Line

3/23/19

Today, the first day of the rest of my life, of out lives, in fact.

So this, like a lot of other blogs, is a glimpse into my life as it is now and how it will unfold with time. The title of the blog is in reference to the white line on the side of  the road. The white line that differentiates the road from the shoulder, where cars travel and where bikes and runners travel. And it is a metaphor for what happens on the other side of the mind when I am on both sides of that line.

So I will put up an undated bio of myself soon. And in this blog I will chronicle my journey to Memphis Half Marathon on December 7, 2019. My goals are to lose 30 pounds and run the half marathon in 1:39:00. Those are both very doable but it will take patients, commitment, and will. All things I need but have had buried for a very long time. This blog will document not only the physical journey but the mental journey that I so very badly need at this point in my life. I am committing myself all in for the all in all on this journey and my journey in life. It is past due that I commit myself whole to God, myself, my wife, my family, my job,and my life. It is now that it would hurt me more to continue in the destructive ways I have in my life than make the changes to bring about the man God has meant me to be from the day he created me.

So bear with me as I push forward toward my goals. There is will most definitely be ups and down along the way. It might not be an extraordinary blog but it will be uniquely mine!

Stay tuned.

Run On!
